ISLAMABAD, Apr 27, Several American colleges and universities have
warned their international students, including Pakistanis and Indians,
against travelling abroad during the summer.
University officials expressed concerns that international students
involved in any disturbances abroad might face difficulties or even
denial of re-entry into the United States.
The University of California, Berkeley, in particular, termed overseas
travel as a “risk” for students under the current circumstances.
Many other major American universities have echoed similar concerns,
cautioning international students that travelling outside the country
could be dangerous.
The president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association also
advised students to consult immigration attorneys before making any
travel plans, emphasising that travelling abroad during this period
could pose serious risks.
According to the association, changing immigration policies and
heightened global tensions have made re-entry more unpredictable for
non-US citizens
