ISLAMABAD, May 02, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has
directed local administration in Islamabad to remove unnecessary
barriers and road closures on the capital’s highways.
Interior Minister has directed IG Islamabad to immediately remove
unnecessary blocks. Resultantly on the orders of IG Islamabad, CTO
Zeeshan Haider and his team started removing barriers and blocks from
the highways. Barriers were removed from the Blue Area, F6, F7 and the
roads leading to hospitals.
Interior Minister instructed traffic police that wherever it is
absolutely necessary, new barriers should be installed in place of old
barriers.
The Interior Minister also took notice of the rush at the checkpoints.
He ordered that instead of long queues, citizens should be provided with
convenience at the checkpoints and the checking procedure should be
simplified.
On the directives of Interior Minister, Islamabad police was working to
replace the wide blocks at the checkpoints with security cones in
alternate rows and to bring in a modern system
