Economic Growth Worrying Pakistan’s Enemies: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that the country’s accelerating economic growth is causing unease among Pakistan’s enemies, who are bent on derailing the progress through propaganda and destabilisation tactics.

Chairing a high-level meeting on the national economic situation, the premier stated that despite facing multiple challenges, including inflation and political instability, the government’s reforms have begun yielding positive results.

“Pakistan’s economic indicators are moving in the right direction. Our enemies are not pleased to see this upward trajectory and are trying to create confusion and unrest,” the prime minister remarked. He added that Pakistan’s resilience and the determination of its people would defeat all such conspiracies.

The prime minister emphasised the government’s commitment to providing relief to the common man and strengthening key sectors such as agriculture, industry, and exports. He said that international confidence in Pakistan’s economy is gradually being restored, as reflected in recent engagements with global financial institutions.

PM Shehbaz also directed relevant ministries to ensure the timely implementation of ongoing development projects and vowed strict action against elements involved in hoarding and profiteering.

The meeting was attended by senior federal ministers, advisers, and representatives from the finance, commerce, and planning ministries.
