ISLAMANAD, May 12, The Director Generals of Military Operations
(DGMOs) of Pakistan and India held a detailed conversation via hotline
on Monday to review the May 10 ceasefire agreement.
According to official sources, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment
to cease all firing and military actions by land, air, and sea,
following four days of intense drone and missile strikes against each
other.
The contact between the two military officials came on the heels of the
agreement reached during a call on Saturday afternoon, in which both
sides agreed to observe a complete ceasefire.
Making the announcement on Saturday evening, Indian Foreign Secretary
Misri said the director generals of military operations of India and
Pakistan agreed on the understanding during a call on Saturday
afternoon, and the next talks are scheduled at 12 noon on May 12.
Notably, the ceasefire announcement came just hours after US President
Donald Trump made a surprise statement on social media X, claiming that
the United States had played a mediating role in bringing India and
Pakistan to the negotiating table
