LAHORE, May 03, The Met office has predicted widespread rain and
thunderstorms, with chances of hailstorm, in most parts of the country
during the next 24 hours to 48 hours, including Lahore.
Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds is expected in various
districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Chitral, Dir, Swat,
Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand,
Waziristan, Kohat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber,
Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Mardan, Kurram, and Bannu.
Rain and thunderstorms are also likely in parts of northern and central
Punjab including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and
Jhelum.
The wet spell is expected to extend into major cities of the province,
including Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad,
Sahiwal, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali,
Multan, Layyah, and Bhakkar.
The Met office predicted further rain in Lahore today, while an alert
has been issued to the district administration in light of the current
weather conditions.
Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are likely to remain extremely hot
and dry, with no immediate relief expected. However, strong winds and
rain have been forecast for Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and
Larkana. In Balochistan, rain is expected later in the evening in Zhob,
Musakhel, Barkhan, and Quetta. Showers accompanied by strong winds are
also likely in Kalat, Sibi, and Khuzdar
